Merlin, The Musical Cat (aka. The White Toed Cat)

Animals can be music lovers, and my cat  Merlin certainly is.  He is a rescue stray that I adopted about 6 years ago, when he was only about 8 weeks old.  This kitty was in bad shape, and I nursed him back to health.  It was around that time, when I decided to get back into my music.  So this cat has grown up with music, and associates music with quality time with his human (me).

Merlin's musical Preferences

When the stereo goes on, Merlin carefully positions himself between both speakers, to get the best sound.  My Kitty  prefers, soft and moderate rock, and he loves jazz, new age, easy listening and classical.  He does not like heavy, pounding music, like death metal.  He will quickly leave the living room and hide out in the bedroom.  He is a cool, easy going type of cat, and likes that type of music.

Merlin loves my Martin D-28 guitar the best of all my instruments. He insists on laying down right next to me while I play it.  He likes my Guild 12 string very much, and likes my electric guitars, as long as I am playing jazz on them.

Merlin also likes my flute and keyboards, but not as much as the guitars.

He hates the saxophone, and as soon as he sees me open the case, he looks at me with a look of betrayal and horror, and runs out of the room.
